Recently we had a customer (Dan) stop in to our Monroe, Washington location asking for some help picking out the right climbing gear for a gutter replacement project he was going to be working on. Our Parts Specialist, Chris Driver was there to help Dan get the right gear to get the job done safely, and efficiently. After Dan purchased his gear and completed his project he sent us over the images you see above, along with the message below.
Message from Dan:
“Hi Chris, I’m the person that bought $1000 worth of tree climbing gear from you, to do my gutter replacement project. I promised I’d let you know how things went, and send some pics.
The short answer is that the project went really well, in a large part due to the gear that I purchased from you. The harness in particular was a god-send. If I had attempted to do that much hanging in my rock harness, I fear I still wouldn’t be able to walk. And the Zig-Zag provided an amazing amount of control. I was able to stop my rappel in exactly the right place to access the downspouts, literally within an inch or two. And I never felt the least bit unsafe. I did use the foot ascender the one time that I had to climb the rope, combining it with my old jumar (hand ascender) that I attached to the rope to give me something to help pull up with. Worked great.
Here’s some pics, both of me climbing, and the finished result.
Once again, thanks for your help.
Dan – thank you for sharing pictures from your project and your experience with us. We’re always happy to help and we appreciate your business. Until we see you in the shop next time! Stay safe out there.
